Summer Sisters 2017 present BAD MOTHERS & NEGLECTFUL WIVES. This devised theatre performance is inspired by the Women’s March in January and explores women led political movements from the past and present. This year The Sisters tackle the themes of political dissent and change amidst the pressures of gender and color expectations. Using text, music, dance and images, this brand new piece features local artists who meet once a week throughout the summer to flex their creative muscles while empowering female identy. The show was written by our regular Summer Sister team as well as Facebook crowdsourcing. Over 50 women have participated in the creation of the piece!
